Qimonda starts volume production of XDR DRAM for PS3

Following a quite lengthy sampling period, Qimonda has now started to mass produce 512 Mb XDR DRAM chips set to be used in Sony PlayStation 3 consoles. Designed by Rambus, XDR has earlier this year surpassed the 50 million shipped chips mark but all of those were made by one company, Elpida.
